It is my final year at University of Canterbury, for my Bachelors Degree.
I miss those who have left Christchurch so much, and I find it harder than usual to live here without them around. A big part of my life is missing.
When I left Malaysia, I was sad to leave my family. But when I arrived at Christchurch, I am happy again to meet my family. =)
But people come and go in these situations. We all need to grow up, continue to grow up, and continue to grow up. There is no ending to growing up.

same here. each year there'll be friends leaving us, and it hurts, but as you said, it's part of growing up.

Life is tough in that way. I can really relate to you with losing friends and moving somewhere new where you dont know many people but as time goes on, you'll meet more people who will fill the place of the others and I beleive that with meeting new people, you always learn new things. Thats the silver lining.
You will find new friends, hard times normally teach us good things in life. Later on you will learn to appreciate all this.
